The East Gate to the Fortress of Jiayuguan, the main access point. The Gate is made of rectangular stone bricks and is 14 feet high. In 1981 the Gate was repaired and the gate posts replaced. The two defensive walls around the fortress have survived in good condition but the moat that originally surrounded it has long since disappeared.
