A 7500 mile journey across Asia along the old Silk Road

The entrance to the Sheik Lotf Allah Mosque on the eastern side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square. This is reckoned to be the only Mosque in Iran that does not have a minaret. Another peculiarity is that because of the orientation of the Square the entry to the Mosque is not aligned to Mecca. Hence on entering the Mosque there are two 90 degree corners to negotiate so that the main body of the Mosque is correctly aligned!
