Main entrance to the Holy Saviour Cathedral, New Julfa, behind its Bell Tower. The Cathedral’s construction started in 1606 by the original arrivals from Julfa with major alterations in 1655 and 1664. The design is very unusual in that it has a dome, much like an Iranian Mosque, but with internal features much like a western church!
Plain on the outside the elaborately decorated interior is something of a shock to the senses when you step inside....
