A 7500 mile journey across Asia along the old Silk Road

Another of my favourites, probably because it was recovered from the tomb of a child in Gordion, the capital of ancient Phrygia and located about 50 miles southwest of Ankara. It is a quadriga with two wheels and drawn by four horses. As a minature model of a chariot it was almost certainly manufactured as a toy for the dead child. Dates from 770 BC.
